@randrews I spent 5 minutes trying to come up with a witty answer and I got nothing :D

@randrews The Xcode ecosystem is built by insane people. I get that there’s a lot of PowerBuilder cruft in there but it’s such a lousy product. The command line tools break after every update. Brew is obnoxious at best

It’s not all bad, but the OpenBSD experience as a primarily C developer is just so much better.

The hardware is incredible though. The horsepower of a high end M1 arm64 chip is just amazing

@randrews I wish I would have bought a cheaper MacBook Air and use that for things like the web, integration with my iPhone, calendars, etc. Logic Pro as well. That stuff is nice.

But no, I bought a high end, pricey MacBook Pro as my primary development system and I hate the developer experience so much I’d rather dual boot OpenBSD instead

So I've given modern a fair shot, I think. I've been using it as my daily driver for several months and I just can't get behind it. At least the fancy arm64 hardware is pretty rad.

Oh well, guess I have to wipe it and install . How horrible for me :D

So far my favorite part of being on Mastodon is discovering that certain people in tech I though I admired are actually complete morons. Super fun!

Ah good ol' Mastodon. I set up this account, click Federated, then spend the next 15 minutes blocking domains and muting all the insane weirdos instead of finding the interesting stuff 🤷

@randrews Yeah I hear that. We all tend to go through productivity slumps

@randrews I hear the "not doing anything useful"... I've been dumping my video game time into the new Call of Duty Warzone. It's a buggy mess but in a fun, messed up way

I pressed the toot button so now I am tooting… toot toot!
